Thailand, never disappointing!
And the adventure begins, almost 3 months preparing and waiting for this day. I thought I was going to be so nervous, but actually it felt so right. I had the best 2 weeks in Spain before departing and it was amazing, spending some time with friends and family I didn't see for long time made it easier to start this great adventure ahead of me.
Just arriving to Thailand, of course I would have some issues in the passport control, the lady was like 30 mins checking my chilean passport, asking when I was leaving, why I was there and if I had 2 passports, I was a bit nervous as I should only be using one passport and also I was so tired, so I just gave her my Greek passport as well, I guess I was registered already in the system with the greek passport and they got confused, who knows. After few pictures she took with her cellphone and a lot of sweat I went through. And yes, believe it or not with my Chilean passport I got 90 days to stay in Thailand, whether with the greek one only 30 days!
I was already 24 hours awake, and in Chiang Mai was only 7 am in the morning, meaning my check in would be at 13:00. After few hours I already met a lot of nice people in the hostel and we decided to go for 1 hour Thai massage in the women's correctional jail, I would say best massage ever, and only 5 euros!
Before heading to the massage place we had the best fried rice for 1 euro, food here is amazing, I think I will gain some weight instead of losing.
The best experience so far was the natural elephant park we went too. We had the luck of feeding, bathing and playing with 3 amazing elephants, walking with them and having a great time! I totally recommend the natural elephant sanctuary, ethical and they treat the elephants with lots of love.
Next stop in Thailand for me was Pai, very relaxed and chilled little hippie town, don't ask why, but I spent 5 days here, chilling by the pool of my hostel, eating the best street food, having the best fruit smoothies and meeting a lot of people from all around the world.
We took a day tour around the main attractions, and I guess it is just perfect to see everything you need in one day when you don't know how to ride a bike, yes every single tourist has a broken arm, leg or burnt because they don't have a clue how to ride a bike!
My next stop will be Yangon in Myanmar.
